Description
Returns the metatable of the given object. <syntaxhighlight lang="lua"> (table) = getmetatable(object) </source>
- if object does not have a metatable, returns nil.
- if the object metatable has a "__metatable" field, returns the associated value.
- otherwise, returns the metatable of the given object.
